My Day..Feb. 27,2012

This week has been good and normal haha. We have 4 baptisms planned for March and we are searching for more new investigators. So I guess I will tell you what I did today. I woke up, cleaned the house, and then went out with our zone leaders. We bought food at Wal-mart. I went to get my haircut which came out good thankfully. There is a member here who is a yoga instructor and so he gave all the missionaries a 45 minute lesson. My whole body was being stretched and strengthened. The hardest part for me was the flexibility in my legs so I need to work on that haha. After the lesson I felt so much more flexible and nimble.
Now I am going to play free for all dodgeball and basketball for 2 hours with the other missionaries!!! Could you send me some cool true church stories and also general conference talks on CD so me and my companion can listen to them during our free time? Please and thank you. I hope everyone is doing well and tell everyone that I love them very much. Love you dad. Oh..did you watch the mormon.org video with my mission president?

New Roof and Special Visitors

So this week was pretty good. For Valentines Day the senior missionary couple, Elder and Sister Mauro took us out to a steak house called "the black angus". The food was soooo good. I got a fire grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and then for dessert I got a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream mmhhhmmm. Oh yeah tell Tyler and Judy I got their package a while ago and tell them thank you very much. When you see Brother and Sister Madsen tell them thank you very much for the letters and I will be writing back to them soon.
Last Saturday my companion and I went to Brother “L’s” house to help him because he added an extension to part of his house. I think it was about 4 feet and we helped him put on a new roof from about 10:30am to 3pm. That was fun. I think later on this week we are going there again to help him with other stuff. President Gelwix said that the Apostle Elder Tom Perry is coming here to Fresno to talk to the missionaries March 9th. That will be so awesomeeeeeee!!!! It’s going to be an all day thing and also the president of the quorum of the 70s is coming. All the missionaries are really excited about it. That was pretty much my day. Oh we have 4 baptisms planned for the month of march! I hope everyone is doing well in New York. :) I Can't wait to here from you.

Tours and training!

So this week has been pretty normal. We took some investigators on a church tour. A church tour is when we walk and show investigators pictures of the savior and talk about the sacrament. We committed two more people to baptism for March, so that’s pretty good. The only thing special about this week was the trainer/trainee meeting we went to from 9am - 4 pm. President Gelwix talked to us a lot about being committed, worthy, obedient and focused doing the lords work. I was able to meet with my old friends Elder Grange and Elder Wilson which was awesome. I can't think of anything else. That’s cool that Schenectady and Glenville are combining. Is it going to be like that when i get home? And....don't worry…. I write in my journal every night. Oh yeah i had to do the lesson for gospel principles last Sunday and I didn't have anytime to prepare except before church. So I was a bit nervous but I was able to give a 35 minutes lesson by myself. I was like "wwoaahh I can't believe I just did that" hahaha. Today I bought some new church pants and some extra socks and that was pretty much my day. I hope everything is going well in New York and Happy Valentines day for tomorrow. Can you get Brian’s Address in Ghana because I lost his address.

Too much lunch!!!!!

So this week a good amount of stuff happened. On Wednesday I had 3 meals for lunch. Our investigator Alex made us some food and then we went home and my companion made food and then made me eat it haha. After that we went to go see Elder Williams (he is the vehicle coordinator) because my companion was getting a new bike from him and when we met him Elder Williams asked "are you elders hungry,im buying". My companion says "yes we are" and I was like "uuugghhh my stomach is soooo full" so Elder Williams drove us to a place called "Colorado Grill". I ate again and I felt like my stomach was going to explode. Then 2 hours later we had dinner at the Fishers house and my companion was purposely giving me more food to eat, I think I probably gained 5 Ibs in just that one day haha. But luckily we bike a lot so that goes away pretty fast.
Also while we were biking a random man yells "hey are you guys Mormon?!?" We are like "yes" and he said "god bless you". So we turned around and talked with the man. His name was Perez and he said how he respects us preaching to others about Jesus Christ and at the end he grabs our hands and says "I want to say a pray for you guys" and were like sure. He says his prayer and we made an appointment to meet with him this week so hopefully he will be home.
Jill reminded me that it was your birthday feb.2nd so......HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Since I can't get you anything for your birthday I will bear you my testimony that I gave yesterday during fast Sunday. "I would like to bear my testimony that I know this church is true, I know that the book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ and that it works hand and hand with the bible. I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers...sometimes in different ways or down the road but he does answer them. I've seen in my life that obedience brings blessings but exact obedience can bring miracles. I know that we have a prophet here on earth named Thomas S. Monson and through him we can receive modern revelation and teachings that can help us come unto Christ.”
